Properly aligning hood?

Is there a way to easily properly align the hood?

Also, back in december I was in an accident, I'm just lately realizing that the front hood on the left side, where the hit was, is slightly depressed downard. Is there anyway to raise it up a few fractions of an inch for flushness or am i just SOL?

there is a little rubber thing that you can adjust up and yes you can move the hood from side to side too from the hinge. You will live ;)

lol sorry I don't have pics but it is easy to find. Its about the size of a nickel and the edges are kinda like a bottle cap. There are two for the front of the hood, one on each side. Unscrew it some to raise and tighten it to lower it. Your trunk has the same thing. You can look back there to get an idea of what it looks like if you can't find it up front

what are they attached to? the hinge that the three bolts connect to to secure the hood to the car?

I realize I could probabbly go look and try to find it but i'm at work and i'm anxious to find out hehe

they are above the headlights or about...I'd have to go look at the car to make sure

you can adjust the hood at the brackets near the firewall, up or down, side to side over in that area. And then you can adjust the hood side to side at the hinges. I found it easy to bolt up the hood and then lay it down to make adjustments

don't mess with brackets or anything like that.. the grommet asubimmer is refering to is on both sides of the radiator core support right above the lights:



it's so easy it's almost criminal. back it out to raise the left or right side of the hood, screw it in to lower. done.

hmm hopefully my car has one on the left side, i'm thinking thats why there's a fitment problem cause that may have popped off i my accident.

even if its not there, it would be super easy to just go to your local junkyard and get one.

well in my case the hood pushed up towards the windsheild when i had my crash so yes i had to mess with the brackets

well I guess the guy that did my bodywork blows. the hood is just plain bent up front, or my aftermarket fender he put on without telling me is not perfect.

I'd bent the hood up a bit but if its the fender then that fucks things up later.. ah well.

did he repair the hood? if so I'm not surprised that it's not perfect. normally you don't bother fixing an E30 panel and just replace it.
