Can someone tell me how to pull the hvac panel so that I can replace the bulbs?

Major hassle.
Unscrew the four screws holding the center AC console in, two top, two bottom.
Remove the two knobs that control the fan & temp & the little "knobs" on the three sliders, pry the inserts between the rows of sliders revealing the four small screws.
That should give you access, have fun.
The above is over a year old off the top of my head, if anyone can fill in the gaps of my memory that'd be peachy.

I think there are two for the sliders and two for the fan speed/temp knobs.
I'd suggest doing the obc while you are in there unless you have done it recently. It would suck for it to go out and you to have to go in there again. It is more of a hassle though as it has four tiny screws that go in it's back.

I just placed a monster order w/BMA and ordered those too. Along with all the instrument cluster bulbs. You would not believe how much brighter new bulbs are. Most, if not all of my bulbs were working on my first e30, but the cluster was dim. I replaced every last one of them and OMG, what a diff.

I need to do this. I don't have any burned out bulbs, but it certainly would be nice if they were brighter.

Any idea how many bulbs I need for the cluster?
