    trailing arm bushings DIY anyone?

    Anyone have or know or a good write up for doing the rear trailing arm bushings.

    it's not too hard. all you need is a puller big enough to reach aroud to the insides of the trailing arm, and you'll have to cut notches on the old bushings so the puller will have a place to grip and press them out. if you're using urethane replacements, they go in easy with the lube they come with.

      I replaced mine and at 128k mi there didn't seem to be any difference from the new ones. They are difficult to get out. I used a treaded rod with large nuts & washers to push them out. This worked great on one trailing arm but not the other. One of the bushings was rusted in and it stuck. I kept tighting the nuts and it eventually bent the trailing arm. It would no longer fit on the subframe so I had to buy a used replacement.

        I just rented a ger puller from autozone to push the new ones in and to get the old ones out I just melted them. Came out easy.
        Im now E30less.
