Does the tach get the rpm signal from the crank sensor or somewhere else? Think my clutch is slipping at 4500+ when I step on it.Tach Revs rise slower but the engine sounds like it is spinning faster.
Where does the tach get it signal from?

The inductive pickup on the plug wire is used for cylinder identification only, not for engine speed.Originally posted by JordanIt gets the signal off the pulse sensor connected over spark plug wire #6James Peacock

I have an aftermarket (read, BIG) tach - wired off of the ignition coil. That's one place where you'll get your speed.Comment
