    Your transfer case is gonna be pissed when it hears the news about its impending doom...

    If your going to rebuild your m20 for your IX, I would keep it a mild tune N/A motor.

    Focus on your traction, it's what the IX is "built" for. Forget about your want to decrease it.

      You will never get 8500rpm out of that cylinder head. The bottom end will do it, but the head won't make it.

      If you're going turbo, just put a taller rear end in it to stretch the gears out and be done with it.

        Yea, Adam is right - the head will need lots of money poured into it to get that high - and then you're just winding for no reason. Unless the airflow can go - it'll just suffocate the bottom end.

          you dont need to turn 8500 rpm's if you have a turbo. you probably wouldnt need to wind it out any higher than stock.

          get a good turbo grind cam, just like you would do with an ohv v8, and run a 3.25LSD you should be golden.

              there's no 3.25 diff for the ix, but you can get a set of euro 3.64 diffs.
