Major Coolant hose cracked today =/

Yeah, the coolant hose from the top right of the radiator, to the thermostat housing busted wide open today =(. Coolant got EVERYWHERE and there was a lot of smoke coming from the engine.

The car didnt overheat, so then I got a ride home from my friend, and we went back and duct taped the hose back up. The car would start up, but then die immediately afterwards. The ONLY way the car would keep running was if I constantly gave it gas, and even then, it ran really shitty... like it was on 3 cylinders or something.

Anyone have an idea of what I need to do to get it running good again? Do i just need to let everything dry out, and replace the coolant hose?

Excuse my engrish.. I think all of those fumes got me high

I would def. try to get the coolant situation straitened out before I try to start it up again. Thinking of what is around that area, maybe the TPS or AFM got fucked? Get coolant in it first and let it dry before you try to diag the problem.

Well, after 2 days of drying, the car is running pretty good again. The coolant does have oil in it now though ><... (this after a recent headgasket change, kill me now).

I never did flush the system thoroughly, so maybe its just junk that was leftover from the bottom....haha yeah id like to think that.

I guess i just need to keep a close eye on my fluid levels.

btw my distributor cap is cracked so maybe water was in there.. thx for the hlep

Check oil color, it shouldn be whitish.

Also if you have acces to a compression tester, give it a compression check on all cylinders.

Flush the coolant asap and replace your distributor cap and rotor. 2 cheap and easy fixes.
