    cant start M10 (injectors)

    hi all
i couldnot start the car today in the street :(

at first i thought it was fuel pump-the fuel was going, then i checked the spark wires, the elecricity goes... at last i checked the injector plugs, and electriciti didnot go there??? my engine is 318i M10... any ideas? whats the problem?

the cheaper the better, start at the fusebox ;)

Correct, check the fuses and main relay. The DME won't fire the injectors if it doesn't see a timing reference signal. So that's another place to look.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Hi, well try what is shown in the images attached, if not, visit this link, and you can download all the needed info in pdf.

Download nubers 4 and five, they have all the info you need, unfortunately i have an M10 engine, but not fuel injected, mine is carburated. Si i don't know much about yours.

            Good luck

thanks a lot i'll check the files later in the evening...
but as i think it all may be because of ECU

Got someone who could lend you an ECU to test ???

Anyway, it's true that sometimes cars will cause expenses, but why would your ECU have taken a dump for no reason ?

There are lots of things in an E30 that could cause it not to start.

First, here is your fusebox .

Click on the link for functions and amps of the fuses.

Another thing that will stop your car from starting is low voltage, a bummed cell in the battery and your fuel delivery system will not work.

A short on your ignition switch will leave you without spark.

Remeber these cars are kinda old, and lots of components are worn.

Test your batt, then supply juice directly to your coil (if you have 1 coil)
positive and negative directly to the batt.

                good luck.

i installed another ECU, no result, so ecu is out, i guess MUF also works..

There should be a way to hotwire your fuel system just at they hotwire some things in that engine.

Please check your ignition switch, the part that is heavier and more expensive is tested (your car cranks) now search for the contact wiring, and give it electricity to test.

Measure that all green wires on engine harness have +12v when ignition is on.(coil+, multifunction relay= fuelpump relay).

And that all red/white wires on engine harness have +12v when ignition is on.

And that all red wires have constant +12v.
