crazy engine swaps???

just for kicks what kind of engines have people put in e30s??? besides the usual m/s50-2 ... this is out of pure curiosity ?

I'll tell you what, if anything major happens to my motor in my eta it will get a sbc 350 with a 700r4, small cam, 4Bbl, and some block hugger shorty headers.

If I were going to blow a bunch of cash on a crazy engine swap it would be an LS1 w/ 6 Speed.

Torque
Tons of Bolt On Options
Lots of Aftermarket
Reliable
Decent on Gas
Lightweight
Parts are easy to find
And did I mention Torque?

The BMW purists might hate it but they'll hate you even more when you are eating S52 E30's for breakfast.

LS1's are great and all, but 1st gen small blocks are so cheap to build.

And weighs about seven times more than a ls1. Also carbs are made from gay, flatspots, and fail.

Drifty325i, i'm not doing the ls1 swap anymore. The e30 is being prepped for the 1uz to go into it in the next few weeks.
