      Toyota's V8 powerplant.

IMHO.. it will make an E30 front end to top heavy. Of course if you're looking to drift it then that should be perfect.

                  Sad,
I cannot believe that guy would put that in there, a S52 or S54 would have been a better fit.

I saw an e30 M3 with a LS1 at the e30 picnic this year. Makes lots of power...but doesn't sound like a BMW. Also seemed to have too much low end for this light chassis... aka easy to crash. The owner almost wrecked into th curb running down the street.

I got my M3 from him - that was a nice M3, he said he didn't know how rare they were before starting the swap. Nice enough guy, but I really doubt he's going to push it hard. He was pretty twitchy on the test drive of the M3 before I bought it from him. I wasn't even at 60% at any point in time.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

i am all for mixin and matchin, especially since s50/s52 engines are getting more and more expensive. i'm actually pondering an sr20 swap myself...but its just a thought. more pics!

i'll say it again. the most ultimate engine/tranny for an E30 would be an LS1+T56. unless you are going to build some crazy expensive euro motor turbo.

If you want to go SR20det you might as well spend the extra few bucks to get the RB26Dett and get the better engine. my

i can see where he wants to use the sr because its smaller Ie:lightweight
more popular meaning easer to find parts in a land that only one or two cars that has a similar engine were sold... makes solid power starts getting expensive at 400... huge aftermarket support...

Both have huge aftermarket support and the power to weight ratio of the RB is far better. Granted I do believe the SR is an excellent engine, I just think with the amount of room you have in a E30 why not put an engine in it that fills it up instead of making it look like a Rotary engine and having nothing in your engine compartment..
