Where else to get underhood pads?

I had a set of BMP Design hood pads on my last E30, and I'd like to get another set of this car. The looked a hell of a lot better than that stupid black thing I just ripped out, and they actually did aid in reducing underhood temps. They were just like this set:

BMP still carries them, but I don't want to pay BMP's mega inflated prices ($80.00) for the set. I got my last set from Jordan for $40 because he bought them and never used them. Does anyone know of any place else that sells these pads for any cheaper?

the german parts stores here have that stuff. you cut it to fit though. I ssaw a few boxes of it at my buddies body shop a few months ago. the stealer should have them too, I have seen e30s here with those things in black too original.

Get a hood pad for a 318is from the dealer. It's not made of that reflective material, but it is a thick foam insulation that is fully glued to the hood... wont hang down like the original one.

Common sense- It's the new 'gifted'

Just don't get it from BavAuto.
I ordered a set, and they all have different textures. They are all sticky backed foam, but seriously have 3 different textures on the other side.
        Very disappointing.
I was picturing a set like what egk2 had on his. Nice.

Dyamat makes a decent hoodliner too. I just have a hard time with the $80 pricetag.

Of course, "The Insulator" is an excellent product too, but at $710 a roll, not for me.

odd.. I have the bavauto set, and it looks great. much better than the old, falling apart stock foam.

just an FYI, the foam isn't meant to be a heat barrier, its just sound deadening for the engine (m20 ticking FTW!).

Are these really worth any money at all? Sure they look better than 20 year old shit on there now, but even 40 bones seems like pissing money away to me.

If I'm not mistaken it definitly helps keep the heat down.

and I've never heard any ticking...

the ones I have come with their own backing, you just stick them on.

I have a set I'm not going to use if anyone wants it.

Gotcha! I think I need to glue the ones I got from BMP. I need to find a nice high heat glue. :)

"Landau Top Adhesive" from DAP will blow your mind. A gallon is about $25, a dirt cheap spray gun is about $10, just pour into spray gun and spray.

I buy the 5 gallon buckets of the stuff.
