Hi, I saw this round opening on top (to the left) of my heater knob, and I started wondering what it is for, does anyone know ??

it's for the E30s rather primitive climate control.

they just say that its for the climate control,
but it is really so the CIA can hear what your doing, and so that your small BC can Blink back the signals you need for ET to land on your trunk- but only if you have an IS trunk spoiler.
I also think it is so the light bulb can cool down a little bit to.

Shit, then i have no use for it, I don't have the IS trunk spoiler, ET will have to land somewhere else :D .

and i hope the CIA is open minded, 'cause I can get pretty creative when talking :D .
