My non airbag wheel is hitting the plastic part number 11 in the link above, any ideas what it is?

Thats what locks the steering wheel. Put the key in and turn the key to the 'ON' position but do not crank. Then slide the wheel on. Put the appropriate number of spacers in and tighten the nut down. Then when you turn the key 'OFF' and pull it out, the steering wheel should lock with that number 11 pin.

its not the lock, the lock is a metal piece also at the center, this is a very thin piece of white plastic.

It sticks straight out right? And it should push into the column when you put the wheel on yes?

no, the pin on top is the lock for the wheel.

As for that part, no clue. i know its there, but im not sure what for. Incedently, part 7 is for the horn.

I had no problems removing that pin to replace an airbag wheel with a nonairbag wheel. no worries.

So just hack it off, would I need it if I were ever to go back to an airbag wheel?
            Thanks
