    Custom chip for 10.2:1 compression

I think I'm going to follow through with building my motor, but will need a lead on software before I do, I don't want to get stuck spending over $800 on a piggy-back setup.

The motor will be a stock bore m20b25, b27 crank, b25 rods, 10.2:1 Racing Dynamics pistons, 273 or 283 Catcams cam, stiffer springs, very mild port work (if any), 19lb injectors. That should be about it as far as mods. I have access to 93 octane and will run that as well (although I'd prefer 91 if I can use it with only a small power loss, as there's only one station near me with 93)

I remember seeing on a website MarkD was developing a chip for this EXACT setup, it was July 06, but nothing has happened since then. I attempted to PM him on here and he didn't get back to me yet. Any other places to get a custom m20 chip burned, and approximate price? If it's over $300 I might as well just save my money and get a piggy-back so I can tune the damn thing.

    Thanks

I used the RD K27 chip. Works very well with my 10.2:1 pistons.

Where did you find that? I can barely find info on the K27 engine!

Where did you get your pistons, and do you have any pics or anything? I'd like to verify I have the correct parts.

Do you have any other info? Did you dyno your car with that engine? What else is done to it and how does it compare with a stock m20b25?

Anything you can tell me is appreciated.

      Thanks!

Well, I have to correct myself/reply as far as what pistons I am using. My compression ratio is 10.2:1, but this is using standard I pistons not the RD ones used in the K27 engine. Not sure what they used at the time.
The chip I bought from Federico Pavoncelli at RD back in 1999. I guess he had some left over parts at the time, including a few chips, cams and sets of pistons.
For some odd known reason my engine doesn't ping with this chip running 91 octane pump gas as with other chips.
Have you talked to RD in Huntington Beach, CA? I am not sure if they are still around though.
I dynoed at 189rwhp, 181rw-torque. This is using a diesel crank, I pistons, 284/272 cam and an RD header.
There might be a Part Number on the chip, so when I get a chance I will check for you.

        Thanks.

That would be great. NICE HP NUMBERS!!!!

I'll try to contact RD, I am trying to get an email address now.
