whats the best chip to get on the 88' super eta. would the 85-87 tms chip work on this particular car? thanks

I have the Turner chip for my 87 eta and it is great. Nost sure if it will work with your car. I don't think so.

Someone makes a stroker chip, intended for an "i" cam and 19lb injectors.

Do that with the correct cam and dual valve springs.

No, it won't work. The 88 supereta has a different ECU than a standard eta, and JimC/TMS does not make a chip for the 88.

They don't make a chip because that particular model was only produced one year 88 325 and 88 528e so they didn't see much of a market for it. I had heard that an I chip works but I tried it and it didn't start. This was back in the day when I ECU's were expensive. These days you're better off starting with an 'i' ECU and of course swap the cam and valve springs, intake manifold/TB.

Just get a 173 ECU and put in the MarkD 325i chip. You'll feel the difference with the ECU alone and the chip just enhances the difference.

The 173 ECU is from the 325i. There's one in the For Sale forum right now. Go to www.dsylvatech.ca for your chip. Yes its all compatible - I drive a Super ETA that I just swapped an 'i' cam, intak, throttle body and some other stuff into. Its essentially a 325i now.
