I have the Turner chip for my 87 eta and it is great. Nost sure if it will work with your car. I don't think so.Originally posted by cabriodster87"Honey? What color is this wire? Someone makes a stroker chip, intended for an "i" cam and 19lb injectors.
Do that with the correct cam and dual valve springs.

They don't make a chip because that particular model was only produced one year 88 325 and 88 528e so they didn't see much of a market for it. I had heard that an I chip works but I tried it and it didn't start. This was back in the day when I ECU's were expensive. These days you're better off starting with an 'i' ECU and of course swap the cam and valve springs, intake manifold/TB."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Just get a 173 ECU and put in the MarkD 325i chip. You'll feel the difference with the ECU alone and the chip just enhances the difference.sigpicComment

The 173 ECU is from the 325i. There's one in the For Sale forum right now. Go to www.dsylvatech.ca for your chip. Yes its all compatible - I drive a Super ETA that I just swapped an 'i' cam, intak, throttle body and some other stuff into. Its essentially a 325i now.where can i get that 173 ecu? what car does it come off of? and where can i grab the markd chip? guaranteed functional with my car? what type of additional power am i looking at once this is done? also can someone clarify the alpina b3 2.7i(which is supereta) chip? ive read up so much i cant recall where i read it from but thats supposably the chip to get for the super etas, or am i mistaken? thanks a lot for input and advice guys.
