I got it free for doing a rebuild for someone. The super eta is not that easy to find. You may find it easier to purchase everything separately, and spend the majority of the time on locating pistons, as they are the hardest to find.

Not to thread-jack but what years/type of 323 heads will work with the M20B27 block? I've got an opportunity to get hold of a 323 head from an '81 model engine and I've got an '86 325e. Thanks for any info.

When I did my search for the 323 to 325 head swap I didn't check the dates on this thread and/or see that it was that old. However, my question still stands...I've done a search using "323 head" for my query and haven't found very much specific info. All help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You should be able to find some info here. There's a page dedicated to the 323i head which discusses the design but you may want to just ask a few questions about it.

              Here is a newb question...

Whats the difference between the "E" motor and "Super ETA" motor?

              I thought there was just a M20B25 and M20B27.

              Thanks!

Super eta had the 2.5l head with single valve springs, dome-shaped pistons, but a lame cam. If you change the cam, and add double valve springs, its a nice little engine.
