I'm getting ready to rebuild the top end of my head and noticed the new rocker shafts slide all the way into the head without any force. This seems a bit odd given how difficult it was to get them out. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I also noticed that they are not permanently sealed, but rather have a hex bolt in each end. All the part numbers looked the same when I purchased them. Anyone have any info?

Everything is in except the shafts and rocker arms. No tapping was needed at all, just slid right in. The old ones need to be tapped, but not the new ones. Seems a bit odd to me.Driving is the only way to go faster....Comment

did you slide the rocker shafts back in with or without the rockers? My brand new rocker shafts slid in and out easily enough. I don't think that is at all unusual.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

Didn't put the rocker arms on, just wanted to see what the shafts fit like. Guess it'll be okay if that's no unusual.Driving is the only way to go faster....Comment

With the rocker arms, everything is tight so I don't think there will be any problems. However, I'm now finding that the eccentrics may be too small. Anyone ever used standard eccentrics with a regrind?Driving is the only way to go faster....Comment
