check your wires, i had the same problem. from vibrations the wires cracked and would stop sending signals for a second, car would stall and then run just fine. Just wiggle all the wires around with the car running and see if it cuts.

Yes although nothing on it is working since the motor swap. Apparently there is some shit I need to run to the glove box for that.

Dude, I have the EXACT same problem on my M20 swapped 318iS. It's fucking annoying!! Been trying to track it down, but I want to replace my cap and rotor first, been 60k kms since I have done them and they are looking a bit worn.

        Keep it slideways!!

I'm almost ready to swap out the whole wiring harness and see if that solves it.

Have you checked the injector harness pins for corrosion?

I seriously doubt plugs are the cause of this problem.

Once you find your keys try tugging or wiggling on the ignition once you start it up to see if there is a loose contact there.

EDIT: Have you thoroughly checked your battery connectors?

It is worth a shot tho. Just suggesting because this fix the same problem on another car of mine.

OBC should work if RPM and mpg gauges work.

The motor has been in the car less than 2 months, all of the grounds are fine.
