Where is the oil level sensor - Do they normally go bad?

My new check panel works great. Confirmed that the oil level sensor is in fact bad. I checked the oil a 10th time just to confirm :) Do these normally go bad? Annoying to have the light on :(

Also where is the oil pressure sensor?

I had that problem on my 325is. It is on the top of the pan kickout on the driverside. Disconnect it and undo the two 10 mil bolts that hold it in place. Take it out and clean it out with some brake clean/carb cleaner. Let it dry for a few hours or overnight and reinstall. Be very careful not to drop anything in there in the process.

It usually takes a bit for the check code to reset with the oil level sender. Disconnecting the battery accelerates the process.

I found the light on my POS 325e would turn on if the oil was in the middle, where it's supposed to be. A little picky, but try filling the oil up to the full mark.

It doesn't depend on the battery for it to reset, just the ignition. It's a very small hole and there's a baffle to keep spirited driving from setting it off, so you'll have to give it a second if you add oil for it to turn off.
