    Brake Pads

Lets here some reviews from you guys with all different pads. I'm mostly looking for a good street pad. I don't autox and if I did it would be only a few times. I'd really like to find a very low dust no squeak pad. I don't know what pads I have on my car now because they are still fine from my PO, but i really hate cleaning my rims every 2 days.

Which pads would be good for spirited street driving / track school? (Buttonwillow, where I once ate through and thorougly demolished a new set of carbon metallic pads on my Camaro in one day)

Also what brake fluid would you recommend?

PBR Metalamasters - approx. $75 for all 4 corners

Low, Low dust. Put them on 3 weeks ago and practically ZERO dust. Brake performace is average. Good, cheap, low dust street pad.

Dual Purpose - Street / Autocross - Low Dust
The PBRs mentioned above could do auto-x duty, definately not track though. Another good low dust pad are Porterfield R4-S, but at twice the cost.

Triple Purpose- Street / Autocross / Light Track - Low Dust
            Porterfield R4-S
            EBC Reds

Track Only - High Bite, MASSIVE DUST
            Carbotech Panther XP
            Peformance Friction 97
            Porterfiedl R4

Brake Fluid: ATE Superblue, Motul 600

Stay away from the Mintex Red pads if you are looking for something with low dust. I have tried four sets on three different cars with the same result...they dust like a MOFO.

My pagids squeaked a lot and seemed to have a lot of dust too. I have ATE pads now and they squeak a bit (less than my pagids) and seem to dust just like the pagids did.

I hear EBC greenstuff is the way to go, i'm getting them next time.

Anyone have anything else to add on these pads, they seem to be what i'm looking for from that discription.

I always here these come up as being good, other than squeaking alot. Any other comments?

i have the greenstuffs, and like most people will tell you, they have very mediocre bite when cold, but superb bite when theyre warm. i have not heard any squeeking from them wet or dry, and the dust isnt that bad.

I agree. They are DUSTLESS and do not squeek at all. The people who got squeek probably shouldn't be working on cars themselves.

The Metalmaster pads can suck my left toe. I just did a track event at Pacific Racweay and they are toast. The pads work so so on the street however, dont bite as well as OEM pads but dont dust at all. I want more of a bite with my pads and am considering

Hawk HP Plus pads up front and HPS in the rear as they do not make HP Plus for the front.

I have pagid, they dust like crazy and squeak, but they do stop the car really well which is all I really care about. :P

once I have my BBS though, that might change. I'm sure Pagids aren't the end all be all of brake pads, so if I could find something with the same or better bite/fade abilities with less dust I'd be all over them. (squealing is the last of my concerns!)
