    E36 325iX......?????

changing out the rear suspension of the iX and for some glue sniffing reason, someone mentioned: huh... can you drop the E30 325iX motor and drivetrain into an E36 and make an E36 325iX?

then someone really threw a monkey wrench in the whole idea by mentioning a M50 E36 325iX..

    is this left-handed idea possible?

On e30tech there is a guy doing an m50 swap into his ix. More work than it would be worth it IMHO..

ok, so if i'm going to keep the M20, can i still drop that into an E36 with little effort and cost?

I would say more like a lot of effort and cost. Anything is possible though. I don't see why you would really want to do that anyway. I guess it would be unique.

there's a little more rust on my iX then i like it to be... and the unique factor.

oil pan of the iX is a bit of a problem.
