Hopefully that's causing the problem, that's an easy enough fix. Be careful with your alternator bracket and adjusting nut, the teeth strip easy.

i read the meter myself and it was bad. i put in my extra alternator and then went back and now its upto 14v. lights went out and everything is good (for the time being haha)

      exactly the same problem

I had the exacty same problem the other night. Lightly glowing idiot lights until you reved the engine then they would go out. Didn't pay much attention until the car lost all electrical power (you could see everything dimming on the dash) then she stalled just as I entered the gas station.

I changed out the atlernator and everything is normal again.

Thanks for the video it helped to diagnose the problem and led me to a solution.

this is good to know, I saw this the other night driving home in the rain, went back to normal after maybe 10 mins so I thought nothing of it....but now that I think of it one of my belts squeal from time to time, might be time for a new alternator!

abepark, maybe your alt belt was slipping?

Alternator/battery problems cause some weird ass shit. I didn't tighten the + battery terminal enough, and when I turned the key on, random dash lights came on (that don't normally come on) and the tach started bouncing around. Car wouldn't even try to start. It makes no sense at all...

Haha yea, it WAS an eta. Car was sold almost a year ago now.

I didn't have any other issues BTW after replacing the alternator.
