With a scan/reset tool or by jumpering pins in the diag connector. See http://www.unofficialbmw.com/repair_faqs/sil.html for how to do it with a jumper.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks jlevie. Do you know what the intervils are? I'll take a look in the manuals when I get a chance but if you know off the top of your head???

Would be nice to keep the oil service light in sync with the oil changes. This way I don't need to keep written track of the changes.

Just a followup to this post. My e30 didn't come with an owner's manual so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the interval is between oil service lights? I reset mine a few hours ago and I'm wondering when to expect it to come back on.

        Thanks,
        TJW

Too long. Do oil changes more often than the light say.

Is there a specific gauge of wire that should be used for jumping/reseting?

That's all...I was going to guess the interval...but I'm probably wrong anyway. lol
