    your battery moves around?

    zip ties might work.

factory one wont pass tech with many.

The steel plate with j-hooks through it below and the heavy strap on top was good enough for me for some groups, but NASA last month poo-pooed it.

I now have a steel bar with holes through it on the top as well. That battery ain't going anywhere.

why wouldn't it? the battery shouldn't move with the stock hold down, assuming you have the correct battery.

QFT. You can shake the entire car with your battery with the stock tie down. I dont see why it wouldnt pass.

Is it going in the stock spot?

The OE battery hold down with an OE or equivalent battery is fine, but it won't work with a smaller or larger battery. For that you need to fab up a tray for the battery compartment and lock the battery down with a bar across the top held down with J rods.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Because the tech inspector said it did not - he wanted something that strapped over the top of the battery. I complied.

yes .. this needs to pass tech -- my battery is not stock size.. my main concern are the j-hooks-- are they going to have to go thru the bottom of the car?..i'm sure its quite rusty under the battery

this is going to be job for that old piece of angle iron i have laying around huh ?
