    Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

in the last couple months I replaced my tranny and diff fluid with Redline. I notice a hum generally at all speeds but especially between 60-70 mph and almost as loud above that. should i be worried?

are my bearings shot? they were replaced at 88,000 miles and now the car has 106,000 miles. i also get a little vibration at high speeds from the wheels. could that be my rotors being a tad bit warped?

i might just be paranoid b/c every little sound i hear from my car i think about where it might be coming from for awhile.

a little help would be much appreciated.

    thanks,
    jake

ever had your car aligned? some tires will hum. bearings shouldn't go that quick. can you identify where the hum is coming from?

yea i've had my car aligned a couple times. I have Kumho Ecsta MX tires. its a general hum. but if i had to say where it was mostly coming from i'd say the rear of the car.

could it be that my tires just need to be balanced?

Did you put a limited slip additive in the diff? I did that and my diff grenaded 2 days later. It went into full lock and I was chirping tires while turning around in parking lots. I'm sure if I would have went on the highway before that happened, it would have been making a humming noise of sorts.

its hard without hearing your car but i would say diff whine if it is comeing from the rear... how was the diff fluid when you drained it?

nothing peculiar (hope i spelled that right) just old and smelly. i'm gonna chalk this up to me being paranoid unless someone has a better idea or my diff locks up.

i got the same problem, it sounds like its comign from the rear, and i can only hear it when i have my foot on the accelerator, if i take it off on the highway it goes away, so i dunno, but if its the same as mine, i drove to florida and back plus the last few months, about 6 thousand miles while it was making the noise and nothings broken yet so i dunno id say its all good
