    Wandering Idle Issues

I have started to notice (as of yesterday) that when I first start my car, it idles at its normal speed of +/- 750 rpm. However, once I begin driving and gradually warming up the temp, the idle raises to around 1000-1100 rpm and stays there. It will continue to do this even after the car has been run for a while. If I turn on the A/C, the already high idle climbs to 1300 rpm or so....and stays there.

Any ideas? I have a stock chip and religeously run 76 brand 89 octane fuel.

Jon, try shooting some carb cleaner into your ICV, it's the only thing I can think of

I've been thinking that the ICV may be the cause. I'm going to take that suggestion into consideration. Thanks :D

          Lots of good info.

This person also suggests not to clean the ICV and he gives reasons in the article.

Also consider adjusting your ICV with the little screw on the unit. Your AFM could also be the culprit, if you have a friend with a spare try swapping it in. It's any easy job, you may also find an AFM cheap at a yard.

          Good luck.
