    Buzzing noise...

Ok guys, here's the deal. About 2 weeks ago I replaced my Fuel Pump ( in tank ). About two days ago I started to hear a buzzing or a humming noise from about the same place as where the fuel pump is located. I also hear it when I turn the key to the "Run" position, but it only humms for about a second. As soon as I start the car though and the entire time its running, I hear the humming noise. Do you think it could have anything to do with the fuel pump? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

some fuel pumos do buzz, yes. did you get an exact replacement. ive had my back seats out for about a week, and the buzz from the pump is actually quite loud.

A hum for a second or two is quite normal when you turn the key to run.

I have a buzzing coming for right near the fuel filter. I dont think its the pump.. it sounds like its that part right after the filter...

is that recommended to be replaced? I figure if that part can go bad and its buzzing.. it might be causing me some fuel economy and power

My fuel absorber also whines even after i replaced the external fuel pump and the absorber. I dont know what else to do to make the sound go away except possibly replace the intank pump.

If it an't broke, don't fix it. Test the pump out, might be normal.

delete the fuel absorber/damper if you have one. BMW stopped using them for a reason.

Looks like a case of over engineering then.
