    Difficulty Level for Dash Swap

On a scale of 1 - 9, in your opinion, what is the difficulty level for a dash swap?

    Difficulty scale:
Adding air to your tires = 1
    Rebuilding a M20 = 9

I am wondering if I should tackle this myself or pay an experienced BMW guy $100 to do it for me.

It really isn't that hard, it's just tome consuming unless you've done it before. It's as simple as pulling the old one out an putting the new one in. Nothing very hard, except maybe remembering where everything goes. Just label stuff unless you have a good memory.

If you were the kind of kid that could take things apart, fix them, and get them back together and working without having any extra parts left over then this is a fairly easy task. But if you were the kind of kid that always managed to put the telepone handset back on the cradle in the wrong direction this job might not be for you.

What about rattles and squeaks and shit? Has anyone replaced their dash and had an irritating noise crop up from a piece of plastic that didn't like getting pulled apart and put back together again? My car needs it too, and I know I could do it no problem but i'm concerned about disturbing the no-squeak karma my dash currently has going. then again, nothing to ruin my nice clean interior like having to look at the dash...

Mr 325 you can do mine for $100 then although I am on the east coast so I guess that means I will have to do the easy swap myself. Oh well worth a try
