if your talking about for a 2.7 then there both copies of the original. You;d need to compare the two different engine the origanl chips were designed for to find what chip would be closest to the engine specs you building like cr ratio, and what not.

So what your saying is that they're custum chips.
Or that they're diffrent types of 2.7 with diffrent specs, and I wont know wich chip is for what spec 2.7.. :?:
They're both on e-bay for a buy it now of $90-$100.
There not custom just a copy. Schnitzer had a certain special chip for there 2.7 engine and this chip is just a copy of the software. And then Dinan had there own stlye engine. I'm awsuming your talking about the m20? Every tuner has there own idea of what is best. like saw for instance the Hartge H27 engine ran a 10:1 cr ratio using custom machined m50 pistons. Where as some of the other companies ran differnent ratios with most likely custom pistons. Plus they used different methods of porting the heads, different cam specs, etc, etc... You can't just go buy a 2.7 chip and expect your 2.7 to run great on it. I'd highly recomend getting ahold of Mark D. He makes custom bhips tuned to your specs. he can take a base line chip like saw the Schnitzer chip and then modify it to work with your needs. Contact Shifty at www.mye28.com to get is contact info, just ask him for the guys name for the custom 2.7 e to I chip He'll know what your talking about.
Fred Kim on this board has had a problem with this his 2.8 ran great and then started to loose performance, this is due to the chip not being exactly designed for his engine build.
With the 2.7i engine I was going to build i was going to go with a copy of a Harte H27 chip as it had close to the same specs except for I was going to have 1mm larger intake valves like the Hartge used.
True, they could just be a copy of a stock 325i chip but with the rev limiter raised and what not. Buying a chip for anything other then a stock Engine is risky, unless you have one custom burned. Mark's price is pretty good to considering what a proper chip can do to open up an engine.
