i was getting off the free way and the car started to sputter then it just died and wouldnt start at all. I thought mayeb the gas gauge was broken but i added gas and still the same thing. after i let it sit for a while it started for a few seconds then quit. when it was being towed it would start and run as long as i kept the rpms up then when we got to the house it idled for a bit then quit. what could this be because of?

i might just have to get an s52

now that i think back a few times i have done a jerky shift or something and the car has sputtered liek this i would just like weave back and forth and the problem would stop i dont know if its related.

Yeah, that's a surefire symptom of a parts car related problem.

is there any way i can tell if the engine is getting fuel with out haveing to take the manifold off? ive done that about 10 times to many already.

Pull the fuel line off the fuel rail and hold a lit match to it. Turn the key to the "Start" position and hold for several seconds.

You could be running really lean, and getting unmetered air. I had that problem when I replaced the rubber intake elbow from the AFM to the manifold. There was a plug that I forgot to transfer to the new elbow.

Check your intake lines and breather connections, it could be one of many possible culprits.

ok so ive figured out that its the fuel pump wiring, is there anything i should check? Im thinking that maybe i could run a wire from the sensor that is right there and connect that to the fuel pump but i thought maybe the wire for that wouldnt be enough to power both items?

yeah I was going to suggest the fuel pump! what makes you think it's the wiring, and not a bad fuel pump?

anyway, check for shorts of course. you can use any decent multimeter to see if a wire is grounding. I paid about $80 for mine, you can probably borrow one from somebody though. it could also just be a bad connection.. either way the fuel pump is super easy to get to, so you can start by looking at it and checking to see if it's working or not. :P

you probably wouldn't burn up the wire as long as it's the same gauge or larger. assuming you aren't connecting it to the wrong thing anyway :P

after taking out the fuel pump, it testing good, putting it back in, taking out all the alarm shit, and still not working, i finally figured out it was some small wire that hooks on to the battery
