Whatever anwer you are looking for can be found using the search feature on this board and this board isn´t even old,
My tip : do get ahead of yourself,,, it´s going to be your mistake everytime
also : we don´t "hook up" our BMW´s, we modify them
If you just tossed $5000 out the window I would stick to the M20, next up would be a manual trans, then a turbo,,
Also don´t take it to a mechanic anymore unless it´s absolutly the last thing,
just buy some tools and you´l be good in no time,,
Also maintain your own car will help in the process of owning it,Gunni
