Yet another problem, throttle cuts out in turns

Well first off this car a given me more issues than i could ask for, in the past 3 weeks i have replaced the gas tank and fuel pump and filter. my problem is when i accelerate hard into a turn throttle will cut off, sometimes it will save itself, but then it will barely run until i shut it off and restart it. it also does it when i am in 4th going down the highway, i brake and the down shift and make a turn, when i try to accelerate out of the turn there is no power.

it's not giving me a ecu fault code either, any suggestions?

I've experienced what you describe as a result of rust in the fuel tank. In turns the fuel sloshes around and stirs up the loose rust particles. Those can collect on the pump inlet screen and starve the engine. Shutting down for a minute or two allows the rust to fall off the inlet and settle.

Drain the tank and pull the pump and sensor. Then look in the tank for sediment on the bottom. You may have to scrape the bottom with a stick to tell if there's a layer of sediment.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yea i figured it would be that, and you are exactly right about turning it off and it running fine again for a few minutes. it there any additives i can throw in there to eat up the rust?

If that doesn't work try a fuel pump relay. I had one that would cut out around left hand turns (yes, I'm serious).

          strange problem

I just went autocrossing today and I had the same problem, but after a left turn I would hit the gas on a straight away and there was nothing there. It felt like the engine shutoff, then all of a sudden the car kicked back into run mode. It was so frustrating at the track, you thought you would turn better laps and then all of a sudden it was dead then it was alive. The car never fully died on me but was no fun to drive. Good tips on the dirty fuel tank and the fuel pump relay. I will have to get out there this week and see if it works. thanks

Yours is probably the in tank fuel pump. Actually, no that I re-read the original post, his problem is probably the same (if he replaced the frame rail pump and not the in-tank pump).
