325i exhaust manifolds on an eta?

    A few questions actually:

    - Will the 325i exhaust manifolds fit on an eta?
    - Is there any benefit to be had? (I plan to have a full i exhaust)
    - Is it worth the heat reduction to have them ceramic coated?
    - If 325i manifolds will fit, is it safe to assume that aftermarket headers would fit as well? (Such as RD, Hartge, etc...)

headers barely make any difference on a 2.5.. what makes you think they will help on an ETA?

the i exhaust manifolds might be worth it though just because they're cheap. no idea if they fit or not, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

That... is why... I asked... if there was any benefit.

I've got a full i exhaust from the manifolds back, that's why I wanted to know.

If I have them powdercoated just to look nice (black), will it hold up to the heat? Or should I just ceramic coat them.

They will fit on an eta. I believe the only difference between the two is that the 'i' manifolds flow slightly better.

That's enough for me, and since I've got them already, why not?

That is why I have them on. I got a set of clean ones real cheap and when one of the studs on my original manifolds broke inside I used those to replace them. the openings are bigger but since the head ports are small I doubt it makes any difference at all.

Why did you purchase an E in the first place? ;)

Ah yes, but you see, I will be port matching my head to the i intake manifold already, so I'll just match the exhaust outlets to the i exhaust manifolds while I'm at it.

Beyond that, I'm not going to get into another debate about why I want an eta. :D

Dont waste your money porting an Eta head. Just enjoy the good mileage and driveable torque and toss in a 2.5 when you decide you want more speed. The Eta engine isnt worth modifying.

I got some i exhaust headers from ebay for $.99 + $10 shipping. For that I don't even care if I get any gains it just seems worth it, and since I love working on my car its just another thing to do :)

well you cant beat free. Thankfully all my mods were dirt cheap because all this and I can only hand with a stock 325i for a short distance and then I get walked. I just gave up and learned to drive so I could beat them on the longtracks.

                        Woohoo, DOHC here I come....

My plan if I decide on more power in the long run is to go M/S50.
