I never heard of an OBC in an m10 I retrofitted an m20 one in and it shows 12mpg as it thinks it's a six cylinder engine supposedly the only way to make it work right is get a euro coding plug from a euro 518i with the m10 engine.

I am not sure but when i get in my car it seems to be in my dash. How can you find out if the code key in the back of it is correct for a certian car?

            m-10 turbo

here is an orignal peice that is made for the 2002 ti. Of course it fits the m-10 engine and would provide a great start for a turbo projsect!!

i heard that it is not an actual m10 engine, but the f1 car from whenever had well over 1500hp. I think it was call the s13 or m13 something like that. I believe it is a two liter with dohc (16v) and a nice sized turbo, and ran off almost pure toluene???
Any way I guess you could boost 12 psi and have a daily driver could you not, but the trans would have to be from a s14.
I thought about slapping an turbo and cutom intake and ECU but my engine is running on its last leg and would need more work than I want to spend on a four banger.

so a turbo s50 aluminum block is in store for me I thnk

M10 can override the 6500 limiter ! I ve revved it over 7000 some times...
It can handle it pretty well...
Mine is a 4 speed manual and at 62mph the tach shows around 3500rpm...
                  What open diff ? I m not sure at all...maybe a 3.91...

I pulled my OBC from a 1985 318i. That car was decked out with cruise and leather seats. I also took the cruise and transplanted it to my car. I didn't record the number on the OBC coding plug, but it is pretty damn accurate. The last tank full indicated 33.2 MPG on the OBC, and calculated to be 33.3 MPG.
The F1 engine with the M10 block was 1.5 liters, the size limit in F1 at that time for turbos. Turbos are now outlawed in F1. The engine pegged the dyno, which topped out at 1300 hp....best guesses were in the 1500 hp range on illegal fuel. That engine powered Nelson Piquet to the world champoinship. It is still the most powerful F1 engine ever made, and the only one in modern times to use a stock production block.

that Brabham BMW Bt52 F1 engine used a modified m10 block, and when your talking about Formula 1, "modified" could mean anything. i highly doubt a stock m10 block could take 4-digit hp.

tHE FACT IS THAT THE m10 HAS 90-105BHP.Even if it was the most powerfull engine sometime in the past, now its struggling to write off Fiat Cinquecentos on the road (Or 1300cc Toyota Corollas).Sad,isnt it ?!?

It was called an m13/b15. It is based off the m10 with a special 16v twin cam head. It maxed the Dyno out at 1500HP so nobody knows its true HP. I read somewhere that it could handle 40 or 45lbs of boost but its only good for a very short ammount of time. Yes it did run almost on pure toluene. I also read that is was able to turn 13K rpms.

There was also an M12/b20 which was the group 5 engine which I think some had around 800HP. I have found m12/b20 "factory fresh" engines online before. very very expensive.

Anyone know how much a stock m10 engine could handle and the m10 5speed? I am thinking aobut just doing a turbo and eventaully standalone ecu.
