so i went to Home Depot, got all the parts for that DIY clutch stop thing. I made it, went to go remove the old one... damn, rounded off that plastic piece of shit. Then I went at it with pliers, thought I had it, but NOPE! it was that shitty plastic disc thing breaking off from the plastic bolt in the thread or whatever. So now basically I cant get the "bolt" out of where the new clutch stop threads in. There isnt enough sticking out to grab on with pliers. Anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance for any help.

DIY clutch stop problem...

take a dremel, cut a groove and turn it out with a plane screwdriver
This is kind of a funny problem though
My clutchstop has an allen head and the washer welded to it clears the allen so it's real easy to remove. Don't make a clutchstop unless you use something rubber on the end, or you'll sound like an old ghia when you shift ('tink')

Does it move in the threads easily? That is, if you were able to grab it would it turn? If it's not locked in the threads, I'd dremel a slot in it and turn it out with a screwdriver. You *could* try and epoxy a stick or something to it and then turn that.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.

alright... after 45 minutes of drilling the fuckin plastic out of the fuckin hole, then adjusting the fucker for about an hour, it's finally done. One thing though, its not really an adjustable clutch stop anymore, it's pretty much only adjustable in my garage, not by hand. there was still plastic in the threads, so i pretty much just used all my strength and forced the bolt in, its fuckin tight. THANKS for all your help everybody!Dan
