    Help me! Oil leak!

    Hey guys
I just moved my car and noticed a moderate sized puddle of oil under the car. JUST GREAT! I have something HUGE to go to tomorrow and I really dont want my engine to lock up on the way there, I put in one quart of oil, but im REALLY afraid.

In the picture I THINK it leaking where that little green wire goes?? what is it? An oil pressure switch/ sensor? Its really oily there and it isnt dirty at all above that, so that I think is my culprit, but what is it?!?!

My engine oil light came on two days ago on my check panel and I thought it was just the switch, I checked the oil tonight, 5 min ago, and its DRY. DAMN IT! I added one quart, and i'll add another in the morning.... please help me,lol.

it might be that thing above it that goes to the oil filter and oil cooler. i herd thats a common leaking place. i have the same leak and i replaced the oil pressure switch and it still leaks

Those switches are cheap (oil pressure switch). Just get one and replace it. I usually don't condone throwing parts at a problem, but it looks like that is the probable culprit from the photo.

I thought that to but Its not, its not dirty with oil at all above the little oil pressure switch. At the swtich and down its all oily, so im guessing thats the culprit, Could it be the Pressure switch O-Ring?

Should I replace the whole thing or just the O ring behind it?

Yes. That's the oil pressure switch. Replace the whole thing. I think it was $7.00 or something at O'Reilly's. Your's has the earlier spade connector on it. Should be the square connector though. Someone's already replaced it once so make sure it has the earlier connector.

So since my car has that spade connecter on it, which pressure switch should I order exactly? the early or late model one?

mine came with all the things i need, its just a metal crush washer kind of thing. just go to nappa or something and tell them the year and they should know which one you need.

i think it might be this
                              12 61 7 568 480

it says the original part number was cancelled and this is the replacement
