The earlier version had a spade connector ( and I believe coarser threads), which he has on his car. The later version had the square connector, which he SHOULD have on his car (taking for granted it's the original engine and switch). The connectors are different, but interchangeable. One thing you might want to watch for also is the part that the oil filter is mounted on. I forgot the exact name of that part but I was going through a case of oil in a week before I did something about it. I realized that the oil was leaking between that part and the engine block. Once I replaced the o-ring and tightened it down, the problem was fixed.
