i need to get a new clutch when i rebuild my tranny what is a good clutch to buy fairly cheap.

Stock OE Sachs clutch. If you have a lot of power you can move up to an E30 M3 clutch, but stock is what you need. They last forever if you don't abuse them.Adam Fogg- '88 M3

M3 clutch sounded like a good upgrade at first- but it's $325 for the sachs kit through alloemparts. for that much i'll just spring the extra bit for the spec stage3, unless anyone knows of a cheaper source...past:
1989 325is (learner shitbox)
1986 325e (turbo dorito)
1991 318ic (5-lug ITB)
1985 323i baur

A clutch kit at Pelican Parts ran around 270-280 or so - and that came with lots of the seals and stuff that may need replacing.
