In second the engine revs up and the wheels don't move?
Here's a bullet-proof test. Go out on the road, drive the car normally at say 45-55 mph - then shift into 5th, and see if it pulls without slipping. If its slipping, you'll see the revs all of a sudden go higher than the car is actually accelerating at.
My clutch in the below car is so bad, pressing on it hard in any gear will cause it to slip. ;)- Sean Hayes

An even better test... get up to highway speed, downshift to fourth, push the clutch in, allow the engine to rev up a little, then pop the clutch back out... the engine RPM should drop back down to where it was quickly, with a little "jerk." If it slowly returns, your clutch is slipping.

See, if I do that and drop it out going into second, the back end will break loose again, pretty much all the way through second, then going into third it'll grab and settle in.

It could be your tyres found traction once you slip it into second gear in the wet (especially if your car has LSD)
FYI, i have tried - 0 100 run in the wet (with LSD) and when I upshifted (at redline) to 2nd gear, the wheel spin a little only.
If your engine doesn't sound like it's revving higher than it actually goes then it shouldn't be any problem. But like i said, try it in the dry and the diagnosis should be more accurate....BMWClub Malaysia
