Need new clutch soon..

Mine is starting to slip a bit, just wondering what sort for E30 318is ? And what cost im looking at ?

Ok well i have a 318is with m42 of course, in the wet i can get my wheels spinning through first, when i change to 2nd and drop it, the engine makes alot of noise, but the wheels dont spin, this is my clutch slipping, isnt it ?

In second the engine revs up and the wheels don't move?

Here's a bullet-proof test. Go out on the road, drive the car normally at say 45-55 mph - then shift into 5th, and see if it pulls without slipping. If its slipping, you'll see the revs all of a sudden go higher than the car is actually accelerating at.

My clutch in the below car is so bad, pressing on it hard in any gear will cause it to slip. ;)

An even better test... get up to highway speed, downshift to fourth, push the clutch in, allow the engine to rev up a little, then pop the clutch back out... the engine RPM should drop back down to where it was quickly, with a little "jerk." If it slowly returns, your clutch is slipping.

Ok ill try them, in a straight line if i take off in the wet i will spin my wheels all teh way through first gear, then put the clutch in, rev it up a little and drop into second and it doesnt spin, the engine just revs but the car goes normally :\

See, if I do that and drop it out going into second, the back end will break loose again, pretty much all the way through second, then going into third it'll grab and settle in.

my m50 won't burn through second, it'll chirp second and third though

Try the same 'test' on dry surface.... you should be able tell tell more correctly whether your clutch is slipping as compared to testing it in the wet....
It could be your tyres found traction once you slip it into second gear in the wet (especially if your car has LSD)

FYI, i have tried - 0 100 run in the wet (with LSD) and when I upshifted (at redline) to 2nd gear, the wheel spin a little only.
If your engine doesn't sound like it's revving higher than it actually goes then it shouldn't be any problem. But like i said, try it in the dry and the diagnosis should be more accurate....
