for the Chain, I'd buy the s14 Crank gear, and chain. remove the m10 crank gear and bolt the m3 stuff on and you should be set.
I've heard the holes needing lined up is the only thing needed done. I'd just buy the head and find a m10 block and set it on and see. IF it dosn't work sell the m3 head.

Thats what I was planning. Just wasn't sure if the crank gear would fit the m10 crank. I got a spare block so I will find out how much a head costs, and see how much trouble I get myself into. Word has it that an m10 head will bolt right up and work on an s14 block so it can't be too much work to make it function the other way around.

M10 are good and i dont not wont you to do one up, i just think a carby or s14 head is the way to go.
Supercharge it, but that will get costly.
make it fast and noisey whatever you do.

I will figure something out. just wanted to stay with a 4 cylinder for weight, but I do have a complete and running 84 325e engine. Maybe a nice little stroker project.

I would definitely go for a M42 swap.
I love my M42, revy revy. Nah its a good solid engine and not as gutless as my old m10.

I would like to play with an m42, but I have heard that your better off getting a 318is because your going to need pretty much everything to convert. with the m10 block I can keep pretty much everything the way it is.

My braking system is off of an 87 325i and I'm running zimmerman cross drilled rotors all the way around. not to mention racing dynamic springs and bilstein sport shocks. What else would I need to upgrade other than a big brake package?
