do you hear just the motor running? or do you here like a click click noise? I just had the spring clutch break that conects the gear the motor turns to the gear that pulls the antenea. All you could head was just the motor running. If it's a click click noise then the mast is stripped.

well the mast seems to be fine, because the white plastic part still has ridges and its not stripped.
It came out easy but now it won't go back in!!! Any ideas? I just hear the motor running, no click click sounds...

You'll have to remove the motor entirely from the car. Easy to take out, just make sure you make some space. I think the hex bolt is size 10 for the mounts on the motor. Once you get if off, simply screw the cover off one side (you'll know which one). Thread the white ridged antenna piece through the teeth in the motor. Place back in car. Enjoy 15' mast....(I just with they came with the E30 M3 antenna)....

If you need any other help or questions, PM me...

If the mast seems ok and the motor still runs the small cog drive belt inside the motor housing may have snapped. It's a cheap part but you're gonna have to remove the unit and open it up.

thanks for all the help everyone.

I took the motor off and opened it up, and immediately saw that the small belt was about to snap, so the belt wasn't tight around the gears and would not rotate.

I duct taped the belt (yah i know that sounds real ghetto) and to my suprise, the power antenna started working! but after couple ups and downs, it stopped working again.

Since I dont really need the power antenna, I just put the antenna all the way down, and disconnected it.

Im gonna have to replace the antenna grommet that goes on the outside, so when i get that part, maybe i will order the new belt.

Do i have to get a whole new motor, or can I just get the belt?
