Car gets no power, what so ever. Please help. I missed a meet!

Well I was about to leave to a meet and I get into my car and try to crack her up. Nothing, and by nothing I mean nothing. No power what so ever.

I recently replaced the chassis ground cable and the alternator. I checked the battery and it is fine. I thought it might have been that the connecting bolt where old so I bought new ones, still nothing. I let it sit for maybe half hour and I tried again. Lo and behold! My gauges lit for a split second...

Left to hang out and get my mind of it, came back 4 hours later and still no power. Before when my alternator was bad at least my radio would turn on, but it won't even do that now. I check my fuses and saw only that one was damaged, a 7.5A (If in the driver's seat it would be closest to you and on the left hand side). I don't thing though that a 7.5A could be causing my car to have NO POWER WHAT SO EVAR.

Pretty pissed that I missed the meet and now I can't go to school tomorrow. Any suggestions on what it might be:?:

    Things I have done:
Checked battery to see if good (It is)
    Replace Alternator
    Replace Chassis Ground
Replace bolts that connect cables to battery
Cleaned battery terminals and alternator ground with terminal cleaner and protector (red spray)
    Jumpstarting
    Bitch and moaned :(

Have you checked your connections at the power distribution block?

If the battery shows greater than 12.2v (50% charged) and nothing works (no lights, heater fan, radio, etc) the problem likely lies in the primary power connections from the battery. If the battery voltage is less that that it is dead and at least needs to be recharged.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Well that battery over 50% charged. it might be the positive?

Do you know if when you changed the altenator if it was charging the battery? IE you checked the with a multimeter.

Did you use a new or used altenator? Do you have a Bentley repair manual? If not I recomend purchasing one.

The old alternator was not charging the battery so I bought a new one. Well it was a remanu one from autozone with lifetime warranty.

Is the Battery Dead? Have you had it load tested? Meaning will it have enogh Amps to turn the starter over?

If you are barely getting enough power to illuminate the interior lights then it sounds as thou the battery might be shot. Can you borrow a good battery to determine if that is the known problem?

Well I went to Autozone and they said my battery was good. I did also trying jumping the car. I'll get my sisters battery and see if it works.

I don't know if my car was on its period of some shit but I am very pissed yet happy. I went outside, disconnected the negative (chassis ground) and then connected it again... And it turned on.

WTH man, I wanted to go to the meet yesterday...

What is that silver canister thing under the car? This is on the drivers side in front of the rear wheel. It was making a humming noise.
