That's your fuel filter, foward of that is the surge absorber. Your pump is the source of the buzzing.

Seriously go on amazon or ebay and purchase a used Bentley. It will help and they are only about 25 bucks. Or do a Bentley Pdf search on google and you might get lucky and find a free download of it.

Didn't say anything about changing it. If it fails swap other wise changed the filter every two years and since you didn't know what it was. I would change it in the next few months.

I thought your car was running again? Why are you talking about changing the fuel filter and/or pump? As mentioned before though, bondo should do the trick.

Your fuel tank has dirt on it, you better look into replacing that too.
The filter is a separate unit to the fuel pump.
                    How loud is the buzzing?
I'd recommend replacing your fuel pump when it stops buzzing!:)

                          Well, of course it doesn't.

No it doesn't, only when on and when I just shut off.
