Which ecu's came in the eta's? I'm not as familiar with them as I am the 325i's. I know the 027's did, but were they the only ones? And also since the 528e's had the same engine, would an ecu from an 88 work in my 87 325? __________________

88 ECUs are motronic 1.1/1.3. 87 and earlier are motronic 1.0, but they switched to motronic 1.1 mid 87.
but generally, no an 88 ecu won't work in your 87 - unless your car came with motronic 1.1 (55pin ecu connector). you can look on your 87's ECU and if it says 153, then you can use the later ones. -
The eta's had 021's as well, they have a pink sticker. I put a chipped 021 in place of the 027 in my car works fine. HTHComment
