A few months ago I read about the conversion using an E28 engine mounting and an E21 brake servo but when I tried it on my car there was not enough space. How did you guys do it. I really need help from you guys. How about using an E12 brake servo because I have found an E12 servo smaller than E21 brake servo about 2 inches in diameter but longer.

    Thanks in advance.

When you say servo, are you referring to the brake booster?

If so, you have a couple of options. The E21 booster or the 2002 booster. Going with either one requires a bit of modification, but its not too extensive. This is the best on-line reference I know of....

Click on "Engine Swap Info & FAQs" and then on the M50 conversion page. You will find the brake booster modification article there.

    Hope this helps.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Forget the M50/S50 conversion....this is a serious conversion. V8 power, its all about torque!

With the 320i booster, you may have to remove a few of the intake manifold fins on a 94 or newer M50 manifold for that 1/2 inch of extra clearance. 91-93 M50 intake manifolds have fewer and smaller fins and require no modification (at least they didn't for me or Bryson).

Can anyone post a picture to show where the booster is and where the intake manifold fins
have been removed and how much clearance there is between the booster and the manifold.

            Thanks again.
