    New E30 - Initial Plan

Recently I came into an 89 325i. I've run through everything and begun a list of things I need to replace/upgrade.. Wanted to run it by everyone and see if I've missed anything..

Batch is the grouping I'll do the ordering in.. so Batch 1 will get ordered first, etc. U/N is Unnecessary or Necessary, and the rest is self explanatory.

    UPDATED: New list with changes

Unless you know its been done recently, I'd make Batch "0" the timing belt and water pump. Heck, for the cost of it, I'd do it anyway unless it was a realtive's car and you know first hand it really has been done.

Have a search and find the other "while you're in there" parts if needed.

excellent - looks like you have a good plan of attack then.

Unless you have evidence to suggest that it is bad, I'd delete the coil from your list. Coils rarely fail and the OE coil provides plenty of spark. I'd also delete the rear shock tower brace as it isn't needed. And I'd use either the Rogue or GC rear upper shock mounts (Bimmerworld is one source).

I would definitely include motor, transmission. and differential mount in the group 1 list.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

are new springs in the plan along with the sport shocks?
new control arms are a good plan as well
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Thanks for the input. I updated the list again. I deleted the rear shock bar, coil, and OEM rear shock mounts, and added the GC rear shock mounts. I also consolidated the shocks/springs down to a bilsten/HR kit provided by Turner.

As for the control arms, is the upgrade to M3 alum arms worth it? Or should I just replace with OEM.

What are you using the car for? If it's street use, the M3 control arms aren't really an "upgrade".

Make sure you get Lemforder suspension parts, they are the best, although a little more expensive. BMA gives brand names, that's who I would go through. Might wanna get tie rods and sway bar links too.

Don't forget all the hardware... new hose clamps for your new hose kit, etc...

A Summer street car and occasional atuox. My 91 was my DD, but this time around I have two cars. The hose kit comes with all clamps etc needed.

One thing I need to figure out is what's going on with my radiator. I bought the far from Doug Thoms, the Chief Instructor for the NOC CCA. He replaced some front end components after a "minor" front end colission. Other than the hood being a little off it all looks good, except for the radiator. Both large coolant pipes are on the bottom, rather than one being on the top left and one on the bottom right. There are also two sensors threaded in with no harness connected.

Anyway... other than that it's all good.

I'm looking through my server logs and I don't see any refusal errors on that file. I have hotlink protection but www.r3vlimited.com and r3vlimited.com are exceptions.
