    Aluminum vs Delrin vs Poly 75D

    Discuss.....

    I will be order my driveline mounts soon, and am confused which to get. Any and all input would be appreciated.

    hella poly 75d for diff bushing, oem for subframe, delrin or poly for transmission, poly for mtor... good to go. i'm out. late. hella bed time for me. soladlae!!

      I'm running aluminum subframe bushings, delrin trailing arm bushings, delrin diff bushing, and urethane motor and tranny mounts.

        I'm going to run all AKG stuff after talking with him and finding out all his stuff is made in house, vs another big E30 tuning company that farms out all there production.

          What kind of use will the car see? You don't want delrin/solid bushings on a street car

            same - I'm planning on getting their 75d subframe/diff kit. I have urethane now but my diff bushing is crap, and my trailing arm bushings are a joke (I think they're powerflex or whatever, cheap junk).

              I have an akg diff bushing and it is nice, make sure you get a tube of the urethane lube for install though.

                I have the AKG 75D urethane for everything... subframe, diff, trans, engine. Shifting is nice, no squirming around. The entire car is very tight. Turn in is very nice now.

                But, and this is a big but :D , every single little rattle and vibration in the car can be heard and felt. You do not want this setup on an everyday driver. Go with softer urethane or stock for the engine and transmission mounts. I would still go with the AKG subframe mounts and trailing arm bushings. Anything to tighten up the suspension. You will get some urethane squeaks and you will get more road noise, but I think that is a reasonable trade off.

                      I can tell you that hard urethane or solid engine and transmission mounts are a darned good way to find problems with your car. I am chasing down a vibration now that you would never, ever heard or felt if you had stock bushings.

                      My car is a dedicated track car so using the hard stuff all around is acceptable.

                        50/50 street/track. I ran delrin control arm bushings on my E36. loved it.

                          i love the way my urethane subframe/TABs feel and handle, but the thane TABs are very very very squeaky...i would prefer delrin for the TABs since delrin supposedly is self-lubricating, unlike polyurethane. Im not sure so someone please correct if im wrong :) EDIT: my car is also my daily, thats why I complain. People look at you funny when you go 2 mph over speedbumps and your car is like SQUEEEEEEEAKKKKKKK-SQUEEAK

                            Why no delrin on the street? I run delrin over ploy. Had ploy and wore out in under 2 years. Delrin should wear and be self lubing. Ploy sticks if not lubed.
