Will work fine, you may have to change the output flange, and make sure the shifter assembly is the right year

4/86 and older cars used a different shifting design. so make sure the tranny is 5/86 and newer and you should be alright

You can't change the shifter setup on the tranny like that because the bracket for the later shifter is part of the tranny case. You'll have to put the entire shift assembly onto the later car to use that old tranny.

Which year 325e transmissions had the proper output flange to work in a 89 325i?
Which year 325e's have the sheet metal consoles and are the gearings different for certain years?

Outflange: I don't think any ETA Transmission has teh correct flange, I looked around for awhile at tons of ETA tranny's and just decided to buy one, easier to change the flange then to hunt around for something that I don't think exists.

4/86 and older have the sheet metal consoles, Gearings are the same on all Getrag 260's to my knowledge

Guys, I dont know this crap so maybe you need more info. His car is a 325i automatic so he doesnt have any of he regular shifting linkages and such. He is basically doing an auto to manual swap with my transmission if possible.

Would all the parts used for the swap be compatible with my tranny? Mine is an 85 built in Novermber of 1984.
                Im now E30less.

So would the outflange be a problem if I use the eta trans, driveshaft, guibo, center bearing, and 3.73LSD diff?

To convert an 89 325i auto to manual of course
