    AFM Restistance Specs?

Okay so I'm trying to figure out possible issues on the lemons car.
Thinking AFM meter now. Measuring it out seems very irregular at best. 1000ohms or so closed, then it goes up to like 1700 or so then dropps back down below 800. it doesn't make much sense to me.
It looks okay inside but the readings make little sense to me.

Its a 86 ( 12/85 build date) 325ES. Anybody have actual tech specs?

Sounds to me like you have a bad AFM. The resistance should be directly proportional to vane position. Most likely the wiper has worn a track in the resistance element. You might be able to adjust the wiper to run on a fresh path.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Like I said I have it apart, the track is in fine shape. hell I even checked all the resistor traces and they all appear good, but without offical documentation on what the output should be I can't be for sure.
Saying I should replace is great, but I don't have the budget in the car to really do that, not to mention that is a one off year sensor. If I have a calibration curve worse case is I might find a properly spec'ed POT and replace the whole wiper assembly with some creative engineering.

Sent to me by someone on E30Tech. Figured others might find it useful so:

sounds like it's toast to me - try bending the wiper arm so it touches a new part of the track.
