    Ireland Shorty Headers

I have a chance to get the pair of headers for very cheap, I just have some questions. The guy bought them uncoated, so even with 5,000 miles they have a bit of surface rust. What are my options for a protective coating on them? I know about ceramic coating, but is there anything else? How much am I looking to spend to have them coated?

And about the fitment, it doesn't really seem like these will attach to the stock cat down pipes. My plan is to weld a custom exhaust up, with a Y pipe flowing into a single down pipe, with a resonator and then a single in/dual out muffler. It just seems like it would be kind of hard to do that since there is no collector pipe for these headers, and they just end in flanges like that.

Wouldn't you lose some performance if you made a Y pipe to a single in dual out exhaust?

the power loss would be negligible, and the benefits (cheaper cats, lighter weight) outweigh the power losses IMHO

                  Get your 5spd done first I say. That P R N D thing is annoying. :P

Since I'm sure the parts are there already, I'd check the cost of coating ( I really have no clue ). If it turns out to be under 200-250 for the complete cost ( incluiding the $75 ) I guess it's a good deal.

for $75, hell yeah. Thats a great deal, even just for the weight savings I'd say. If you want to get real trick, port match the primaries to the exhaust ports on the head.
